Student’s “Thumb Drives for the Homeless” Project
Is Most Popular Video Feature on United Way Campaign
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology student Dale Pedzinski is waiting to see
if a video about his Thumb Drives for the Homeless project is picked up for
a
national online United Way campaign -- after being the most viewed story in
the country and placing fourth in the number of votes cast!
The campaign highlights examples of a person who LIVES
UNITED by volunteering.
Dale Pedzinski
Pedzinski, a freshman computer engineering major at Rose-Hulman, and his
project were showcased by Indianapolis television station WISH-TV. He wrote a United Way Youth as Resources grant while
a student at Cathedral High
School to create a service project that helps homeless people at Horizon
House use computer thumb drives in their job searches.
The first round of the United Way’s national project search concluded on
Sept. 30. The fact that Pedzinski's story was the most viewed and
among the top vote-getters will be considered by the panel of experts,
according to Mary Kinney, public/media relations manager for the United Way
of Central Indiana's Indianapolis office.
Persons may have another opportunity to vote for Pedzinski's video and
project in the near future. So, stay tuned!
