Young Achievers Get Distinguished Alumni Service Awards
Rose-Hulman
Four alumni have been awarded Distinguished Young Alumni Awards from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology's Alumni Association in recognition of their notable career achievements, continued education, community service and commitment to the college. The awards were presented at the Alumni Awards Breakfast on Sept. 26 during homecoming.
Honored Alumni: Recipients of the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Alumni Association's Distinguished Young Alumni Awards were (from left) Jennifer McCue, Tori Wenger, Tarelle Osborn and Greg Gotwald.

Graduates from the last ten years recognized were:

Gregory Gotwald, a 2001 chemical engineering alumnus, who is now an associate with the Indianapolis law firm of Plew, Shadley, Racher & Braun. The Indiana Lawyer recently named Gotwald as one of Indiana's "Up and Coming Lawyers" and his expertise in various environmental law areas made him a perfect choice to help team teach an environmental survey class at the Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis in 2007. He is currently in the process of writing a law review article addressing current issues in cases involving insurance coverage for environmental liability claims. He earned his law degree from the Vermont School of Law in 2004.

Jennifer McCue, a 2002 chemical engineering alumnus (computer science minor), is an associate specializing in intellectual property practice for the Dickstein Shapiro law firm in the Washington, D.C. Her practice includes the preparation and prosecution of patent applications as well as client counseling and litigation matters. McCue continues to contribute to Rose-Hulman's success by organizing and hosting events in the nation's capital as well as returning to campus to be a guest lecturer on patent prosecution and a panelist for women's history month. She graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2005 and is currently pursuing a masters degree in biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University.

Tarelle Osborn, a 2001 civil engineering alumnus, is president Osborn Consulting, Inc., which she launched in 2004 near Seattle, Wash. The company provides surface water design, modeling, and analysis expertise for a broad-base of government and private sector clients, including multi-million dollar design-build contracts for the Washington State Department of Transportation and other local jurisdictions. She has served the American Society of Civil Engineers as a Seattle section board member and national committee member. Osborn works closely with Rose-Hulman to recruit graduates and summer interns.

Tori Wenger, a 2004 computer science alumnus, is the youngest senior engineering manager for Rockwell Collins, leading an enterprise-wide database development effort since 2006. She submitted one patent application and has four more pending submission. Wenger is co-chair of Rockwell Collins' Rose-Hulman recruiting efforts, helping the college achieve trusted partnership status and Rockwell Collins become one of the top employers of RHIT graduates. She also served as visiting professor in Rose-Hulman's Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering during the 2007-08 academic year.
