Call for Proposals--Summer 2008 Projects to Implement Tablet PCs and DyKnow Vision Software into a Course
As you may know, faculty members at Rose-Hulman have been engaged in an ongoing project to implement tablet PCs and collaboration-facilitating software into their courses. In the summers of 2006 and 2007, faculty who participated in the project received summer support to revise a current course to accommodate the tablet PC and DyKnow Vision software. During the academic year, these faculty taught their revised courses in the tablet classroom and were supported in the effort by a technical support team as well as a faculty community of practice. You can read more about our project at: http://www.rose-hulman.edu/irpa/tablet/
Now we wish to invite faculty to propose possible projects that could implement tablet PCs and collaboration-facilitating software into their courses during the next academic year, 2008-2009. Faculty selected for the project will receive partial summer support in order to fund the development of a course; faculty will also participate in related assessment activities during the summer and academic year. As a participant in the project, you will be a part of the growing community of tablet PC and collaboration-facilitating software practitioners on our campus.
If you are interested in participating in this project, please send a proposal (no more than two pages) describing your project to me in IRPA by Friday, April 25, 2008. Proposals should identify the course to be developed or modified, ideas for implementation, and how this implementation would improve the course. If you have questions or concerns you would like to discuss, please let me know. I look forward to seeing your ideas!
