Course Offerings in Spanish
 
SP 111/112/113 Spanish Language and Culture I/II/III

Pre: Preceding course or placement by examination

    Provides elementary and intermediate training in oral/aural skills, reading and writing Spanish. Enhances grammar presentations by means of appropriate readings that show the relationship between language and culture.
 
SP 211 Spanish Language and Culture IV  

Pre: SP 113 or placement by examination

Stresses grammar review and conversational skills. Includes reading and discussion of more advanced texts on contemporary issues and cultural topics of Spain and Latin America. This course provides the level of proficiency required to take either SP 212 or SP 213.
 
SP 212 Spanish Language and Culture V

 

Pre: SP 211 or placement by examination

Reading and discussion of texts dealing with Spanish peninsular culture and literature. Presentation of individual reports and short research paper.
 
SP 213 Spanish Language and Culture VI

  

Pre: SP 211 or placement by examination

Reading and discussion of texts dealing with Latin American culture and literature. Presentation of individual reports and short research paper.
