    Introduces student to drawing as a basic of personal expression. Exposes the student to a range of tools, techniques, and attitudes.
       
RH 143 Beginning Painting Pre: None
    Teaches oil painting, stressing traditional approaches. Utilizes individual critiques geared to each student's level of development.
       
RH 145 Art Issues Pre: None
    Explores conceptual, philosophical, and stylistic concerns of post-industrial art movements through discussion, demonstration and research projects.
       
RH 148 Beginning Photography Pre: None
    Introduces the student to historical aspects of photography, to the impact of the visual image in modern culture, and to photography as a medium of individual expression.
       
RH 149 Special Topics in Art Pre: None
    Examines a particular medium (ceramics, sculpture, water color) or topic (expressionism, design, graphics) in depth.
       
RH 244 History & Appreciation of Music Pre: None
    Surveys music history, forms, styles and media through listening. Examines representative musical compositions.

    Studies basic materials of music: harmony, melody, rhythm and timbre and their roles in musical structure.
