Engineers without
Borders (EWB) is a multi-national, non-profit, humanitarian
organization dedicated to improving life in third-world countries.
The organization pairs engineering students with communities in need
to improve their quality of life through sustainable engineering
projects. American engineering students benefit by gaining
international experience and practical knowledge of their future
profession, while the community benefits from the gift of their
expertise, time and project funding. Two summers ago, Rose’s EWB
chapter traveled to Ghana, Africa to construct a poultry house for
the impoverished village of Obodan. This summer, the chapter plans
to return to Obodan and implement more projects primarily focused on
water and water sanitation.
