What is HKN?

IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu is the student honor society of IEEE and is dedicated to encouraging and recognizing excellence in the IEEE-designated fields of interest. Members consist of students, alumni, and other professionals who have demonstrated exceptional academic and professional accomplishments. Student members are selected on the basis of scholastic standing, character, and leadership. Through a variety of service programs and leadership training, student members develop lifelong skills that earmark them for prominent positions in industry and academia. Members are much better prepared for the post-college world and are especially valuable and attractive to employers. They are recognized as extremely capable, both technically and professionally.

What is the Epsilon Eta Chapter of HKN?

Epsilon Eta is the local Eta Kappa Nu chapter at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Our goal is to help high academic achievers at Rose-Hulman develop themselves into effective ethical and technical leaders in industry.

Who can join IEEE Eta Kappa Nu?

Academically, the top 25% of the Junior Class,the top 33% of the senior class and the top 20% of those who have completed at least 1/3 of thier coursework (65 credits), however, there are a number of other requirments. For a more detailed list of requirements see our Prospective Members Section

Michael Ausserer - President

The School Chapter President shall supervise the affairs of the School Chapter. The President shall preside at all meetings of the Chapter and shall call special meetings of the Chapter at the request of not less than five members or whenever deemed necessary.

Justin Nuttall - Vice President

The Vice President shall, in the absence of the President, assume the President's duties. The Vice President shall succeed to the office of President should a vacancy occur.

Michael Mathes - Recording Seceratary

The Recording Secretary shall keep a record of all meetings of the Chapter and shall issue notices of all special meetings of the Chapter.

Perry Greenwood - Interim Corresponding Seceratary

The Corresponding Secretary shall be responsible for all correspondence of the Chapter, except correspondence related to the offices of the Treasurer and News Correspondent.

Justin Stone - Treasurer

The Treasurer shall collect all dues and be responsible for all School Chapter funds which shall be paid out only upon order of the Chapter with the signatures of the President and the Recording Secretary or in accordance with the official policies of the school wherein the Chapter is established.

Perry Greenwood - News Coorespondent

The News Correspondent shall submit reports of the Chapter's activities to the IEEE-HKN-BOG and perform all other duties pertaining to THE BRlDGE and IEEE-HKN website, including publicity for the School Chapter.
