Fast Forward set for summer of 1999
Fast Forward, the summer camp in science, mathematics and engineering for girls who
have just completed seventh or eighth grade, has been scheduled for 1999.
Session I will run from July 28 - Aug. 1. Session II begins Aug. 3 and ends Aug. 7.
Registration is limited to 30 participants for each session.
Past activities have included the construction of a crystal radio, study of polymers,
using computers to have fun with fractals, building a web site, math sessions on the
fundamentals of graph theory and randomness, career sessions, a session on the history of
women in engineering, and many other team activities.
Final plans for Fast Forward ’99 are still top secret, but one of the projects on the
agenda for certain is construction of a solar-powered vehicle.
