Cross country team finishes sixth, eighth in SCAC
Rose-Hulmans womens cross country team finished in sixth place, while the
mens team claimed eighth-place honors in the 1998 SCAC Cross Country Championship at
the Bird / Gibson Course.
Freshman Rebecca Merow earned all-conference honors by finishing seventh in the
womens championship in a time of 19:47. Merow became the first Rose-Hulman
womens cross-country runner to earn all-conference honors in the four-year history
of the program. Senior Ann Talbert finished her career in 42nd place with a time of 21:53.
Junior Brian Wickham topped the mens team with a 36th-place finish in a time of
28:36, while freshman Matthew Crain finished 40th in 28:47. Rose-Hulmans mens
team captured a championship in the 10-team Principia College Invitational.
