Examples of How Computers Help Expand Educational Horizons

* Instead of designing traditional static poster displays, chemical engineering students now develop links on the Internet to show their materials science and engineering projects to the world.
* Information about future lectures, homework assignments, course syllabi and past exams are available on the web for many classes.
* A graduate student utilizes e-mail to inform an international company about his research on biomaterials.
* Experiments last spring with a Georgia Institute of Technology professor, from his Atlanta office, showed that Rose-Hulman's Olin Advanced Learning Center has the capability to host outside lectures through a two-way Internet video conference.
* Corporate recruiters will soon be able to review the resumes of seniors and graduate students to select candidates for interviews, plant trips and jobs.  More than 90 percent of this year's seniors seeking employment will participate in the project.
