Rose-Hulman has received a national award for a successful public relations program that promoted the expansion of the colleges Homework Hotline to students at 162 schools in the Indianapolis area. Rose-Hulman received a bronze medal in the annual Circle of Excellence Awards program sponsored by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) in Washington, D.C. CASE is the largest international association of educational institutions, with more than 2,900 members. Its members include professionals in the fields of alumni relations, fund-raising and public relations. The award was presented in the Individual Special Public Relations Projects category. The only other winners in the category were the alumni associations at the universities of Minnesota and Nebraska which won gold medals. Campus representatives from external affairs and the Learning Center joined with Miller/White Advertising Inc. of Terre Haute to plan, implement and evaluate the public relations effort. The public relations projects were instrumental in the Homework Hotline recording a 233 percent increase in calls received during the academic year. |
