size Professor Wilkison "Bill" Meeks died April 5 at the age of 86. He was professor emeritus at Rose-Hulman, where he taught for more than 27 years. During his tenure at Rose-Hulman, he also served as head of the physics department. Meeks was a member of the American Physical Society, a 50-year member of Sigma Xi Honorary Science Fraternity, and specialist and writer in the field of acoustics. His undergraduate work was done at Maryville (Tenn.) Collge, and he earned his master's and doctorate in physics from Northwestern University. Survivors include his wife, Esther and two daughters, Katherine Allison Meeks, New York City, and Loretta Margaret Meeks, Phoenix, Ariz.
