Rose-Hulmans mens and womens swimming and diving squads finished fourth and sixth, respectively, in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship at Sewanee, Tenn. Senior Sean Valentine claimed the 100-yard breaststroke championship, while Matt Smith finished second to earn all-SCAC honors. Valentine and Smith each claimed two all-SCAC awards. Valentine finished second in the 50-yard freestyle competition, and Smith placed second in the 200-breaststroke. Rose-Hulmans 200-yard freestyle and 400-yard medley relay teams also earned all-SCAC honors. Freshman Becky Merow paced Rose-Hulmans womens team with six first, nine second and three third-place finishes in dual meets. Sophomore Juliana Van Winkle added five first, seven second and five third-place finishes. |
