Chemistry department add computational laboratory

Three new Silicon Graphic computers are the focus of a new Computational Chemistry and Molecular Modeling Laboratory at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. The lab is currently located in the John T. Myers Center for Technological Research with Industry, but will be later moved closer to the chemistry department in Moench Hall.

The laboratory will allow Rose-Hulman students to learn on the latest equipment to help model molecular structures and chemical properties, according to Chemistry Department chair Rita Hessley.

The equipment was provided from financial donations by Pharmacia-Upjohn and Eli Lilly, through the efforts of chemistry professor Mark Ball.
