Spring 1999

Rose-Hulman students, staff set blood drive record

Supplies at the Central Indiana Regional Blood Center were replenished this spring -- thanks to 315 pints of blood being donated by students, faculty and staff at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

That brought Rose-Hulman's total for the 1998-99 academic year to 982 pints -- 117 pints more than last year's record.

Student groups organize two-day blood drives during each academic quarter. Rose-Hulman annually leads the state in the volume of pints donated each year from a college.

Since 1978, the Rose-Hulman community has donated 12,000 pints of blood. About 15 percent of all blood donated in the Wabash Valley is contributed by Rose-Hulman students and employees.
