Board of Managers changes name to Board of Trustees
The Rose-Hulman Board of Managers has voted to change its name. The change was made to eliminate confusion as to the true nature of its functions.
It will now use the name Board of Trustees. Board members agreed that the term, Board of Managers, increasingly caused confusion among individuals and organizations not directly associated with Rose-Hulman.
A resolution passed unanimously at the group’s winter meeting noted that the governing boards of institutions of higher learning are more customarily called the Board of Trustees of their institution.
The resolution does not change any of the powers or duties of the Board of Managers acting as Board of Trustees. It also does not change any of the purposes or methods of operation of Rose-Hulman.
