size The alumni affairs staff is creating new opportunities for young alumni to maintain a close relationship with Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Ideas about what events, programs and services would be of interest to alumni 21-30 years old are being developed with the help of a 15-member Young Alumni Council. "Alumni who graduated since 1990 represent one-third of all living Rose-Hulman alumni," noted Bunny Nash, assistant director of alumni affairs, and adviser to the newly created council. "We want to ensure we’re providing activities of interest to such a large segment of our alumni population," she said. "The council will generate ideas and evaluate events aimed at their age group." A Homecoming party for alumni who graduated between 1992 and 2001 was hosted by the Young Alumni Council Sept. 14. The event took place at the Champagne Velvet Tap Room near downtown Terre Haute. The council also is discussing events for young alumni in Indianapolis, Chicago and Detroit. "A lot of exciting ideas have been discussed during the council’s first two meetings," Nash said. "An alumni weekend that would be reasonable in regard to cost and only require a day or two away from work is being considered."
