Career services assists alumni on line

The Office of Career Services has some special on-line features to assist alumni in their career planning.

Open access is now available to a link titled “Services to Alumni”. Situated in that file are links to:

• Job Trak, an on-line listing of several thousand positions and job search resources;

•More than 100 employer web sites, many with job listings are available; and

• Skill Search, a career networking and database recruiting service that links alumni with organizations that need their talents.

Membership is available at a reduced fee for Rose-Hulman alumni.

Alumni are not limited to “Services to Alumni.” Another career services web feature they can access is Career Search, a database of more than 1 million companies. A password is necessary for access to this service. Alumni can obtain one by calling the Office of Career Services at 812-877-8184 or by e-mailing Jan Ford, assistant director of career services, at janice.ford@rose-hulman.edu.

Also available through the web site are suggestions concerning resumes and cover letters .
Director Bill Lindsteadt said work is under way to allow alumni to get an account to put their resumes on the Rose-Hulman web site. Those resumes could then be accessed by companies seeking employees. Another feature in the works is web site posting of job opportunities for experienced professionals. These features will not be available until next year.
