Dr. Janet Best, Department of Mathematics,
The Ohio State University
Janet Best joined the Mathematics Department at The Ohio State University in
2006, after three years as a postdoctoral fellow at the Mathematical
Biosciences Institute on the OSU campus, where she continues to be a
long-term visitor. Her research interests lie primarily in deterministic
and random dynamical systems and mathematical neuroscience. Janet is
fascinated by the workings of the brain and how mathematics can help
us understand brain function in both health and disease, and she
particularly enjoys exploring these issues in collaboration with
undergraduates. Janet has received a CAREER Award from the National
Science Foundation and was a 2010-2012 Alfred P. Sloan Foundation
Research Fellow.
