DangelIUBOX SCORES:  TRANSYLVANIA / ASBURY

LEXINGTON, KY. -- Transylvania University handed Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology its first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball loss of the season with a 25-20, 25-16, 25-20 victory over the Fightin' Engineers on Saturday at Transylvania.

Later on Saturday, NAIA power Asbury improved to 17-4 on the season with a 25-18, 25-20, 25-22 win over the Fightin' Engineers.

Against Transylvania, senior Karah Hickman (Hobart) led the Engineers with seven kills and four block assists.  Junior Anna Lewer (Indianapolis/Lutheran) added six kills and nine digs.

Senior Leah Pelzel (Loveland, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) added team-high totals of 21 assists and 11 digs.

In the Asbury match, Lewer reached double figures with 10 kills.  Pelzel again led the squad with 26 assists, two aces and 13 digs, and Hickman contributed eight kills.  Senior Morgan Williams (Fenton, Mich./Powers Catholic) pitched in with eight kills and had the team's solo block.

Rose-Hulman stands 12-6 on the season and 2-1 in HCAC play.  The Fightin' Engineers return to action on Saturday with a 1:30 p.m. home matchup against Hanover College.
