TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology placed six players on the all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference first-team or honorable mention squad in results released today by the league office.
Senior Megan Chann (Columbia, Mo./Rock Bridge) (pictured) and freshman Marie Stettler (Edgerton, Wis.) captured first-team all-league accolades.
Sophomore Melissa Montgomery (Alexandria/Monroe), sophomore Sage Sackett (Kalamazoo, Mich./Mattawan), senior Klara Schroederus (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) and freshman Colleen Stevenson (Bolton, Mass./Nashoba Regional) each earned honorable mention all-league accolades.
Schroederus was also named Rose-Hulman's recipient of the league all-Sportsmanship Team position.
Chann stands 8-5 in singles play and 4-3 at the No. 1 position this fall. Her efforts also include a 6-6 doubles record, including a 4-4 mark at No. 1 doubles with Stettler.
Montgomery recorded a 7-6 singles mark, highlighted by a 5-1 record at the No. 4 position. She also finished 7-3 in doubles play and was named HCAC Player of the Week for her efforts against Franklin and Hanover.
Sackett played at the No. 2 singles and doubles positions this season. She compiled a 5-6 singles record and stands 7-3 in doubles play.
Schroederus stands third in school history in singles wins and second in winning percentage entering the HCAC Tournament. She finished 12-1 this season and 8-0 in league play to improve her career singles record to 30-10.
Stevenson earned the clinching victory in the 5-4 win over Franklin and stands 9-3 in singles play this season. Her mark included a 7-1 record in conference play and a 7-2 mark at No. 5 singles.
Stettler compiled an 11-2 singles record during the regular season, including a perfect 8-0 mark in HCAC play. Her efforts include a 6-0 record at the No. 3 singles slot and a 4-4 doubles record, along with one league Player of the Week honor.
