TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology finished a 5-0 week on the men's tennis court with an 8-1 victory over Defiance College on Saturday.
Junior Ben Paras (Tucson, Ariz./Nordhoff) and junior Devon Fritz (Lakeside, Calif./West Hills) led the effort with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, then teamed up for a No. 1 doubles win.
Sophomore Nathan Moore (Scottsdale, Ariz./Home Schooled) won at No. 3 singles and combined with senior Randy Billingsley (Moline, Ill./Alleman) for a No. 3 doubles victory.
Senior Stephan Lemmer (Haymarket, Va./Stonewall) won at No. 5 singles and teamed with junior Ian Stevenson (Stow, Mass./Nashoba) for a No. 2 doubles victory.
Freshman Ray Montgomery (Terre Haute/South) rounded out the effort with a No. 6 singles victory.
Rose-Hulman improved to 5-4 on the season and 3-2 on the conference campaign. The Fightin' Engineers return to action on Wednesday against Mount St. Joseph.
