MEET RESULTS

746-1112teamTERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology  swimming and diving teams opened the season with a meet featuring Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday.

The 400-freestyle relay team of sophomore Andrew Podgorski (Goshen), junior Alex Krull (Wildwood, Mo./Lafayette), sophomore Theo Famprikis (Thessaloniki, Greece/Anataolia College) and junior John Huster (Terre Haute/North) captured top honors in a time of 3:21.06 to lead the men's effort.

The 200-medley relay team of sophomore James Landry (Grayslake, Ill./North), Podgorski, Huster and Famprikis added top honors in a time of 1:41.48 to sweep the day's two relay events.

Individual winners for the men's team included junior Matt Ross (West Lafayette/Harrison) sweeping the 100- and 200-butterfly events in 53.77 seconds and 1:57.49; sophomore Logan Ryan (Kent, Wash./Kentwood Senior) claiming the 200-breaststroke in 2:16.95; Podgorski claiming the 100-breaststroke in 1:02.62; and Huster winning the 100-freestyle in a time of 48.91 seconds.

The women's squad combined for three event wins on the afternoon.  Junior Nicole Richardson (Janesville, Wis./George Parker) swept the one-meter and three-meter diving titles with 178.30 and 203.80 points.  Freshman Laura Danhauer (Barrington, Ill.) added a 500-freestyle win in 5:46.45.

Rose-Hulman hosts Millikin University on Friday night at 7 p.m. in the next home meet.  The Fightin' Engineer men will then head to Wabash on Saturday.
