NORTHWESTERN BOX SCORE; ADRIAN BOX SCORE

CLERMONT, FLA. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology softball team concluded their Florida trip by splitting with Northwestern (Minn.) and Adrian on Friday.

Six players achieved two hits in a 7-1 victory over Northwestern, with senior Allison Faber (St. Louis, Mo./Cor Jesu Academy) leading the Engineers with three hits, two doubles and a run in their victory.  Freshman Jenna Martinek (Troy, Mo./Troy Buchanan) also had a double along with an RBI and a run.

Sophomore Brianne Widmoyer (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Central) (pictured) scored two runs while senior Kayla Yano (Ontario, Ore.) also knocked in one run.

Other multiple hit Engineers were sophomores Kayla Irwin (Farmersburg, Ind./North Central) and Alyse Mueller (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West), who also scored a run.

Mueller also picked up her first victory of the season as she threw for the complete game, allowing just two hits on eight strikeouts.

Rose-Hulman then fell to Adrian 4-0 in a rematch from a game earlier in the week.  Martinek led the team with two hits, with Widmoyer adding a double.

Rose-Hulman stands 2-6 overall and returns to action March, 12, as they travel to Centre College.
