NORTHWESTERN BOX; CONCORDIA BOX SCORE

CLERMONT, FLA. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology scored at least once in every inning to cap its Florida softball trip with a 7-6 win over Concordia of Minnesota on Friday.

The Fightin' Engineers opened the day with a 10-1 loss to Northwestern of Minnesota on Friday.

Sophomore Allison Bowman (Fort Wayne/Snider) led the offensive effort with a two-run home run in the fourth inning.  Bowman had two hits and two RBIs on the day.

Junior Brianne Widmoyer (Elkhart/Central) smashed two doubles with two runs scored and tossed the complete game in the circle.  Widmoyer earned her second win in as many days for the Fightin' Engineers.

Sophomore Jenna Martinek (Troy, Mo.) slapped three hits, including a double, with two runs scored and two RBIs.  Freshman Jessica Ahlborn (Houghton, Mich./Houghton-Portage Township) and freshman Samantha Springer (Irving, Texas/Parish Episcopal) added one single and one RBI each.

In the opener, freshman Carly Heibel (Fort Wayne/Lakewood Park Christian) led the Engineers with two singles.  Heibel also tossed the final four innings without allowing an earned run and recorded seven strikeouts.

Rose-Hulman completed its annual spring trip with a 2-6 record.  The Fightin' Engineers travel to the Centre College Invitational on March 10-11.
