gilliamST. LOUIS, MO. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology scored twice in a three-minute span in the second half to top Webster University 2-0 in women's soccer action on Wednesday night.

Sophomore Nicky Wheeler (Avon) scored in the 22nd minute on a pass from sophomore Mackenzie Christensen (New Glarus, Wis.).  Just three minutes later, Christensen put home an insurance goal on an assist from freshman Hayley Gilliam (Zionsville).

Freshman Lucinda Combs (Danville, Ky./Boyle County) recorded her second shutout of the season in goal with four saves.

Webster outshot Rose-Hulman 7-3 in the second half and 10-6 in the contest, but the Engineers maintained control with a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.  Wheeler joined freshman Mallory McDevitt (Wapakoneta, Ohio) with two shots.

Rose-Hulman improved to 3-3 on the season, while Webster dropped to 3-2.  The Fightin' Engineers host Millikin University on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Jim Rendel Field.
