MANCHESTER, IND. -- Manchester College reached the Heartland
Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament with a 1-0 women's soccer
victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Saturday
afternoon.
The Spartans scored the lone goal of the match in the 83rd minute to qualify for the HCAC Tournament as the No. 4 seed. Brandy Crouse scored her 13th goal of the season to provide the winning margin.
Manchester outshot Rose-Hulman 12-9 in the contest, with freshman Lucinda Combs (Danville, Ky./Boyle County) recording three saves.
Sophomore Nicky Wheeler (Avon) led the Rose-Hulman offense with four shots and freshman Katie DeMoss (Martinsville/Roncalli) added three.
Rose-Hulman completed the season with a 9-7-3 overall record and tied for fifth place in the league standings.
