DEFIANCE, OHIO -- Defiance College relied on two first half goals to top Rose-Hulman 2-0 in women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon.
Defiance relied on goals by Alicia Ledford in the 11th and 27th minutes to take an early 2-0 lead. Claire Turner had 10 saves for the Yellow Jackets.
The Fightin' Engineers outshot Defiance 15-10 in the contest, with nine shots in the first half and six in the second.
Freshman Nicky Wheeler (Avon) and freshman Hayley Gilliam (Zionsville) led the Rose-Hulman offense with two shots each.
Rose-Hulman stands 6-5-2 overall and 1-1-1 in league play, while Defiance improved to 7-3-3. The Fightin' Engineers travel to Mount St. Joseph on Tuesday.
