schleter-gcBOX SCORE

TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Greenville College scored twice in the second half to overcome an early deficit and top Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 2-1 in women's soccer action on Wednesday night.

Maureen Murphy tied the score early in the second half, before Rachel Irwin provided the game winner for the Panthers.

Rose-Hulman relied on an own goal for its score in the first half.  Junior Amy Schleter (Knoxville, Tenn./Karns) centered a pass in front in heavy traffic that was deflected first by the Engineers and then in by a Greenville defender.

Greenville narrowly outshot Rose-Hulman 15-13 in the tightly contested matchup.  Freshman Nicky Wheeler (Avon) led the Engineer offense with three shots, and senior Julie Brennan (Indianapolis/Pike) added four saves in goal for the Engineers.

Rose-Hulman dropped to 3-6 on the season, while Greenville improved to 5-4 overall.  The Fightin' Engineers travel to Mount St. Joseph on Saturday.
