BOX SCORE

TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology withstood a second half charge from Webster University to claim a 2-1 women's soccer win on a rainy Wednesday night.

Senior Carolyn Guzik (Avon, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) put the Engineers ahead with a penalty kick goal in the 32nd minute, after drawing a foul in the box.

Freshman Becca Evans (Tinley Park, Ill./Victory Andrew) contributed Rose-Hulman's second goal in the 58th minute, courtesy of a crossing pass from junior Amy Schleter (Knoxville, Tenn./Karns).

Webster answered just two minutes with a direct free kick goal by Alexandria Nikolaus in the 60th minute to make the score 2-1.

Webster charged in the last 30 minutes, but a strong Rose-Hulman defensive effort and timely passing kept the Gorloks off the board.  The Fightin' Engineers outshot Webster 4-3 in the second half, although Webster had an 11-8 edge for the match.

Senior Julie Brennan (Indianapolis/Pike) picked up the victory in net with five saves for Rose-Hulman.

The Engineers improved to 3-2 on the season and travel to Millikin University on Saturday.
