746-all-regionTERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology placed two players on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America all-Great Lakes Region Men's Soccer Team, in results released on Thursday.

Juniors Mike Schiff (Martinsville/Mooresville) and William Senat (Edmond, Okla./North) earned third-team all-region honors for their efforts on a Rose-Hulman men's soccer team that won its third regular season conference championship in the past five seasons.

Schiff claimed HCAC Defensive Player of the Year honors for the second consecutive year and became the second player in Rose-Hulman men's soccer history to win two conference Player of the Year awards.  He appeared in 19 matches this season to earn all-conference honors and scored his first career goal as the game winner against Hanover.

Senat led Rose-Hulman in scoring with 10 goals, three assists and 23 points.  He tallied three game-winning goals and had both goals in the team's key 2-0 HCAC victory over Franklin and was a first-team all-HCAC selection.

Schiff and Senat earned the 14th and 15th all-region honors in Rose-Hulman men's soccer history.  The Fightin' Engineer program has combined for 10 all-region awards since 2008.

Rose-Hulman finished the season with a 12-5-3 record and was 8-0-1 to tie for first place honors in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings.  The Fightin' Engineers won their third conference title in the last five years and improved their record to 40-5-4 in HCAC play in the five years of the Sean Helliwell coaching era.
