Women's Golf Comes Home 2nd at RHIT Invite

TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's golf team came home second at the Engineer Invitational, just four shots behind the team championship, in an event held at Rea Park Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday.

Hanover won the event with a two-day score of 671, followed by Rose-Hulman at 675.  Marian (686), Franklin (701) and St. Mary-of-the-Woods (702) rounded out the top five.

Freshman Erin Scully (Arcadia/Hamilton Heights) finished sixth overall to lead the Rose-Hulman performance.  Scully fired rounds of 78 on Saturday and 89 on Sunday.

Freshman Peem Chanrotchanaphan (Chiang Mai, Thailand/Grace International) added a ninth-place finish with two rounds of 84.

Jjunior Deanne De Keizer (Mishawaka/Penn) placed 17th with scores of 87 and 86.  Junior Hayley Vonder Haar (Highland, Ill.) fired rounds of 87 and 86, with freshman Taylor King (Scottsville, Ky./Allen County Scottsville) rounding out the team score at 92 and 85.

Rose-Hulman returns to action at the DePauw Invitational next weekend.
