TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Wabash College narrowly retained the Little Giant-Engineer Cup with a 7-5 match play victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in men's golf action at Rea Park Golf Course on Wednesday.
Wabash won six of the 11 dual matches, with Rose-Hulman earning five victories. The Little Giants earned the final team point by winning the overall team score among the top eight players.
Freshman Sanders Park (Alpharetta, Ga./Milton) recorded the best score for either team with a round of 73 in windy conditions. Freshman Kent Kraus (Greenwood/Center Grove) joined Park in the 70s for Rose-Hulman with a score of 79.
Other individual winners for the Engineers included freshman Chris Lambert (Chesterfield, Mo./Chaminade Prep) with a round of 82; senior John Rigitano (Addison, Ill./Addison Trail) with an 82; and junior Will Maethner (Indianapolis/North Central) with a 92.
The Fightin' Engineers return to action at the Rose-Hulman Invitational at Rea Park this Saturday and Sunday.
