parsons-wabCRAWFORDSVILLE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology claimed the Little Giant/Engineer Men's Golf Cup for the first time since 2006 with a 5-4 victory in the annual Ryder Cup scoring style match between the two schools on Wednesday.

The contest featured eight individual dual matches between the two teams, with the final point awarded to the team with the lowest stroke total among the top five players.  Both squads won four matches each, with Rose-Hulman claiming the total score by a 381-382 margin.

Sophomore John Rigitano (Addison, Ill./Addison Trail)  and freshman Brandon Scroggins (Hanover/Shawe Memorial) tied for the day's top score with rounds of 75. 

Junior Aaron Kiraly (Granger/Penn) fired a round of 76, and senior Cliff Parsons (Petersburg/Pike Central) (pictured) scored 77.  Junior Blake Knotts (Louisville, Ky./Christian) rounded out the team score with a 78. 

Individual winners for Rose-Hulman included Scorggins at the No. 2 position; sophomore Eric Kamer (Greenwood/Center Grove) at No. 3; Kiraly at No. 5; and sophomore Steven Stoops (Fort Wayne/Southside) at No. 8.
