TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology athletic department joins those on campus and throughout the Midwest in mourning the loss of William A. "Bill" Cook.
From the Rose-Hulman athletic department perspective, Cook serves as the namesake of the Fightin' Engineer football stadium. Cook's personal donation allowed for the construction of the current stadium structure in 1996.
Cook also had many personal visits and dealings on campus, including a long standing relationship with former Rose-Hulman President Samuel Hulbert. He also served as a visiting professor for one academic quarter in the mid-1990s.
Cook built Cook Group, Inc., which employs approximately 10,000 worldwide with sales estimated at more than $1.5 billion, according to the Indianapolis Star. The Bloomington area office employs more than 3,000 workers.
The thoughts and prayers from Rose-Hulman and the Fightin' Engineer athletic department and staff are with the Cook family.
