TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
clinched a bid to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference
Women's Basketball Tournament despite falling 83-57 to Hanover
College on Saturday.
The Fightin' Engineers needed losses by Anderson to Mount St.
Joseph and Bluffton to Transylvania to qualify for the HCAC
Tournament. Both scenarios occurred, so Rose-Hulman will head
to Franklin College for the tournament on Friday.
Rose-Hulman honored senior Alisa Dickerson
(Elizabethtown, Ky.) prior to the game and she led all
scorers with 24 points and seven rebounds.
Sophomore Kelsey Ploof (Noblesville) added 15
points and four rebounds on a perfect 9-9 from the free throw
Hanover clinched at least a share of the conference title with
the victory. Alicia Hopkins scored 17 points, and Natalie
Morse pitched in with 13 for the Panthers. Hanover finishes
the regular season at 20-4 overall and 16-2 in conference
Hanover shot 50% from the field in the game and outscored the
Engineers 45-28 in the second half to earn the victory.
