TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior Julian Strickland (Indianapolis/Pike) has been named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season after his efforts on Saturday.
Strickland poured in 26 points to help Rose-Hulman defeat Bluffton University 70-57 on Saturday afternoon at Hulbert Arena. The civil engineering major finished 10 of 17 from the field with two three-pointers and was a perfect 4-4 on the free throw line.
With the performance, Strickland moved into the HCAC scoring lead with an average of 24.0 points per game. The well-rounded performance also included four assists, four steals and three rebounds.
Strickland stands ninth in school history with 1,364 points and has scored 30 or more points in a game four times this season.
Rose-Hulman (8-3, 3-1 HCAC) sits in a five-way tie for first place in the league standings and hosts Earlham College in the annual John Mutchner Cup Game on Wednesday at Hulbert Arena.
