746-acad-distTERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Two members of the Rose-Hulman baseball team captured Capital One academic all-district honors in results released today by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Junior Ethan Post (Rockford, Mich.) and junior Matthew Turk (Addison, Ill./Addison Trail) were chosen to the first-team NCAA Division III academic all-district seven squad.

Post and Turk will now advance to the national ballot, with the Capital One Academic All-America Team set for release on Wednesday May 30.

Post has a perfect 3-0 record in eight starts and nine appearances in Rose-Hulman's pitching rotation.  The right-hander has tossed 36.1 innings and allowed 21 earned runs with 12 strikeouts and a 5.06 earned run average.

In the classroom, the chemical engineering and chemistry double major has a 4.00 grade point average and is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Turk is batting .287 this season with nine doubles, two triples and one home run in 36 appearances and 33 starts.  He has played both the catching and first base positions this year, and the Fightin' Engineers have an overall record of 20-4 when he serves as the team's starting catcher.

In the classroom, the electrical engineering major has a 3.83 grade point average and has been a multiple quarter honoree on the Dean's List.

Rose-Hulman stands 26-11 overall and 17-5 in HCAC play this season.  The Fightin' Engineers host Earlham College in a key doubleheader tonight at Art Nehf Field.
