CRAWFORDSVILLE, IND. -- Wabash College scored two runs in the third inning and two runs in the fifth to top Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 4-1 in non-conference baseball action on Wednesday afternoon.
Rose-Hulman scored in the second inning courtesy of singles by freshman Caleb Kissel (Plainfield, Ill./North) and junior Michael Bush (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Christian) (pictured). Bush led the offensive effort with two hits and one RBI.
Five Rose-Hulman pitchers held Wabash scoreless in six of their eight at-bats, but a balanced effort led the Little Giants to the victory.
Lucas Stippler paced the Little Giants with three hits and one run scored, and Josh Piercey pitched the first three innings to pick up the pitching victory. Nelson Novack tossed two scoreless innings to earn his third save.
Wabash improved to 8-10 on the season, while Rose-Hulman stands 7-12. The Fightin' Engineers return to action with a three-game series at Hanover starting Friday.
