WINTER HAVEN, FLA. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology relied on its bats to earn a 14-5 victory over Wartburg College in game three of the team's annual Spring Trip to Florida on Monday.

Rose-Hulman scored four times in the second, third and eighth innings, and belted out 11 hits for the victory.

Junior Matthew Turk (Addison, Ill./Addison Trail) led the Fightin' Engineers with a grand slam home run and also scored three runs.

Other key contributors included sophomore Hank Akard (Indianapolis/Ben Davis) with a single, double and two RBIs; sophomore Andrew Benitez (Miliani, Hawaii) with two singles, four RBIs and two runs scored; sophomore Donald Stopka (Grayslake, Ill./Carmel Catholic) with a single and two runs scored; and senior Jamie Weinle (Harrison, Ohio/Olney C.C.) with two singles, two runs and one RBI.

The offense helped make a winner of senior Jim Bob Schuler (Salem/North Harrison) who pitched 7 2/3 innings in his 2012 debut.  Schuler scattered 12 hits with five strikeouts and allowed five fifth inning runs, but otherwise shutout the Wartburg offense.

Rose-Hulman stands 2-1 on its annual Florida Trip and returns to action against Augustana College at 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
