Creating A Schedule Tab in your ANGEL Webpage

Schedule Page Generator Documentation--Creating A Schedule Tab in your ANGEL Webpage

Instructions

Students will find it handy to access the schedule via a tab in your ANGEL webpage. This will save them a lot of work in locating your schedule and it will highlight the schedule as a major feature of your webpage. To create a schedule tab, follow the instructions below.
  1. Go to Tools in your Course
  2. Click on Environment Variables
  3. Click the Add a Variable button
  4. In the Variable Name field, enter the following text: tabs
  5. In the Variable Value field, enter the following text: syllabus=Syllabus, calendar=Calendar, content=Content, sched=Schedule, people=Members, intouch=In Touch, tools=Tools
  6. Click Save
  7. Go back to Tools in your webpage
  8. Click on Tab Settings
  9. In the URL field for Schedule Tab, enter $goto$Schedule (where Schedule is the actual name of your schedule page in ANGEL), or if you use a schedule hosted on an AFS webpage, enter the actual URL of that webpage.
  10. If you would like for your schedule to be the start page of your course, you should choose Schedule in the Start Tab drop down list.
  11. Select Save.

Using Environment Variables in ANGEL is kind of risky. As such, if something goes wrong, email Kevin Davidson and ask him to reset your environment variables to the defaults. The ANGEL Support Team is working on getting a macro (where you would click on a checkbox and it would automatically do all of this for you), but until then, just be careful to follow these steps precisely.
