The award recognizes
Rose-Hulman graduates from the last ten years with notable endeavors in
the areas of career achievement, continued education, community service
and/or commitment to their alma mater. The selection of the award
recipients is made by the Young Alumni Council in association with the
Alumni Affairs Office. The Distinguished Young Alumni awards are
presented at Homecoming.

Autumn Faith, 2003 - Chemical Engineering |

Ballistic Missile Systems Analyst,
National Air and Space Intelligence Center
Autumn graduated in 2003 with a bachelor
of science in chemical engineering. She works at the National Air
and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) on Wright Patterson Air Force
Base, OH, and is pursuing her M.S. in materials engineering at the
University of Dayton. During her time at NASIC, Autumn has delivered
crucial information, representing authoritative DoD positions on
topics of paramount importance to the highest levels of the United
States government, on North Korean and Chinese ballistic missile
developments. Autumn played a leading role on the NASIC Ballistic
Missile Division team that provided unprecedented intelligence
support that enabled the president and vice president to make
well-informed decisions about our national posture during the North
Korean Taepo Dong-2 missile launch crisis of July 2006. |

Patrick
Grace, 2000 - Electrical Engineering |

Engineering Manager, Oklahoma Electric
Cooperative
Patrick graduated in 2000 with a bachelor of science in electrical
engineering. Upon graduation he returned to his hometown of Norman,
OK and married his wife, Kelley. He also began working at Oklahoma
Electric Cooperative (OEC) as a Staff Engineer and began his
graduate work. In 2002, he graduated from the University of Oklahoma
with a master of science in electrical engineering and a master of
business administration. In January of 2006, he was promoted the
position of Engineering Manager for OEC where he oversees and
manages the distribution power system for the largest electric
cooperative in Oklahoma. Patrick enjoys traveling with his wife and
competing in marathons and triathlons.

Isom, 1998 - Mechanical/Electrical Engineering |

Ascendant Engineering Solutions
Jon graduated in 1998 with bachelor of science degrees in mechanical
engineering and electrical engineering. He began his career at
Applied Science Fiction in Austin, TX where he worked on the image
capture engine of ASF's direct to digital film processing systems.
He left ASF to teach mathematics and physical science in Berseba,
Namibia with the Peace Corps. Currently, he works at Ascendant
Engineering Solutions doing systems engineering, video and imaging
electronics design, signal integrity analysis, and mentoring. He
enjoys cycling, skiing, and teaching some recent immigrant friends
to drive in his standard transmission car, and he recently took a
13,000 motorcycle tour of northern Mexico, Baja California, Alaska
and points between.

Tyler Jewell, 1998 - Computer Science |
Senior Director,
Quest Software
Tyler graduated in 1998 with a bachelor of science in computer
science. He spent six years at BEA, a middleware provider. While
at BEA, he authored three books and three dozen industry
articles on software architecture. In 2004, Tyler became CEO of
The Middleware Company, a publishing and research firm that
operated architecture Web sites for developers and ISVs
including establishment of TheServerSide.com, the world's
largest Java community with more than 500,000 members. He was
responsible for the company's strategy, leading a divestiture
via leveraged buyout. Today, Tyler works as the head of strategy
and business planning for applications management at Quest
Software. He is responsible for the global P/L of 15 products.
