Darin Moody
Chemical Engineering
Class of 1987Darin Moody is Executive Director, Six Sigma, Global
Manufacturing and Quality. In this role, he is responsible for
all Six Sigma efforts within the component.
A native of
Jeffersonville, Indiana, he joined Lilly in 1987, after
graduating Magna Cum Laude from the Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology with a BS degree in Chemical Engineering. His initial
assignment was as a process design and later a project engineer
in Facilities Delivery Engineering, where he worked on the
design and construction of bulk manufacturing facilities.
He moved to Clinton Laboratories in 1990 as Department Head
of Bulk Pharmaceutical Manufacturing where he was responsible
for the start-up of the new manufacturing facility C3. After
subsequent department head assignments in Environmental Controls
and Engineering, he returned to Indianapolis in 1995 as Manager
of Engineering for Indianapolis Bulk Operations. He assumed the
role of Manager of Biochemical Manufacturing in 1997.
He moved to the United Kingdom in 1999 to become General
Manager of Speke Operations located in Liverpool. He returned to
Indianapolis in 2001 as Plant Manager for Biosynthetic Human
Insulin Operations. In 2002, he became General Manager, Bulk
Insulin Manufacturing, adding Humalog Operations to his
responsibilities. In 2004, he became Executive Director, Global
Process and Maintenance Engineering with worldwide
responsibility for engineering and maintenance activities. He
assumed his current responsibilities in September 2005.
Darin has served on boards of directors for the following
organizations: The Charles T Hyte Community Center in Terre
Haute, Indiana; The Partnership for Learning in Liverpool,
United Kingdom; and The Eli Lilly Federal Credit Union in
Indianapolis, Indiana.
