Diversity is about accepting each
other as we are and recognizing we each bring our own unique
strengths and experiences to all that we do. As a profession
dedicated to team work, engineering in general and Rose-Hulman in
particular values the contributions all people can make. Whether
one is a member of the majority or minority population, whether
one is an American citizen or from another country, we all have
something to contribute and to celebrate.
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is tremendously proud of its
students and alumni of color. Their contributions to the campus
culture and to society in general are impressive. While students
of color do not fare well nationally in engineering, nearly 70% of
Rose-Hulman students of color have graduated since 1990. In the
current student body, 91% of Rose-Hulman students of color who
began at Rose-Hulman are still enrolled. This is higher than
the majority population (88%).
