Let's get the bad news over with first. We estimate (see table on left) that the total cost of one year at Rose-Hulman including room, board, tuition, books, supplies, and a night on the town in Terre Haute will run about $45,000.

The good news is there is financial aid available. (If we didn't have assistance we wouldn't have any students.)

Not many families can afford the full cost of sending their son or daughter to Rose-Hulman. In fact, over 90% of our students receive some sort of financial assistance. Our Financial Aid Office can help put together a combination of loans, scholarships, and grants that can make that tuition figure much easier to swallow. Plus there are additional sources we can help you find: Work-study programs on campus,
ROTC scholarships, maybe even local scholarships available just in your area.

Many of our students take out student loans.
Parents sometimes have doubts about that because paying that loan back takes a lot of financial responsibility. Luckily, we groom responsible citizens. Also, with an average starting salary of over
$55,000 a year, our students are in a better position to pay off those loans.

Financial assistance is available in a variety of ways at Rose-Hulman:
  Work Study

  • A federal program based on need and eligibility
  Scholarships

  • Rose-Hulman Named Scholarships
  • National Merit
  • ROTC Scholarships (AROTC, AFROTC)
