Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology has several students who transfer to our campus each year. The reason a student transfers varies between each student but one thing is consistent – they wish to obtain an outstanding education in engineering, science and mathematics. Rose-Hulman is a place where any student can achieve this goal.

Transfer admission is for those students who have completed college or university classes since graduating from high school.  To be considered as a transfer student, students need to submit their application, college transcript(s), and course descriptions to the Office of Admissions. If students have less than 32 transferable hours at the time in which they are applying, they should also send a copy of the high school transcript. Once an application is complete it takes approximately four weeks to hear an admission decision.

The online application for the fall of 2008 is now available, and the deadline is April 18th.  If you are currently enrolled as a freshman at another institution, you will need to begin the application process after your first semester grades have posted.

Online Application
(It is free to apply online)

Rose-Hulman accepts coursework from other institutions. As a general rule for a course to transfer it must be a 100-level course or above and the grade received for the course must be a C or above. Once a student has gained transfer admissions he/she will receive credit evaluation for their course work.  In the end, however, the faculty make the final decision on transfer credit, not the Office of Admissions.  Please note that online courses do not transfer to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

Transfers, with the exception of international students, are eligible to be considered for need-based financial aid. There are modest scholarship monies available. We encourage students to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

International students who have completed college level work are encouraged to file the international transfer application.  Please keep in mind that there is very limited scholarship money available for international students.  International Students must be able to fully fund the entire cost of education at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
