International Applicants

An applicant must submit a completed online application at the link provided below and submit all application items as listed below.

  • Online Graduate Application Form
  • No Application Fee
  • In order to be considered for full financial assistance (tuition grant and graduate assistantship), fall term applicants must submit COMPLETE application materials to the Graduate Studies Office by February 15. Students applying in winter or spring will be eligible for tuition grants only. Graduate assistantships will be subject to student eligibility and availability of funds.
  • Fall term applicants will be notified of admission and financial aid offers beginning April 1.
  • Rose-Hulman does not offer conditional admission to graduate students based on language requirements. See language test requirements below.

Application Requirements

Every applicant must provide the following materials:

  • Completed Online Application
  • Official College Transcript(s)
  • Statement of Class Rank & GPA (form available for download once completed application is submitted) (May be waived if undergraduate instution does not rank.)
  • Three Letters of Recommendation (form available for download once completed application is submitted)
  • Personal Statement (form available for download once completed application is submitted)
  • Official GRE (Optional—see explanation below)
  • Official TOEFL or IELTS scores (See score requirements below)

Applicants are able to check the status of their application by logging back in to the application portal with their user name and PIN to see what application items have been received by the Graduate Studies Office.

Test Requirements

GRE: An applicant who is not a graduate of an accredited Bachelor of Science program in engineering, mathematics, or natural science disciplines offered by a U.S. college or university must take the General Test portion of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Although the GRE is not required for applicants from accredited Bachelor of Science degree programs in engineering, mathematics, or natural science disciplines offered by a U.S. college or university, the results of the examination may serve to strengthen the application. GRE minimums are as follows: Verbal: 33% Below, Quantitative: 60% Below, and Analyitical Writing: 33% Below. Please recognize that these minimum scores will not ensure admission.

TOEFL/IELTS: In addition to the application requirements listed above, international students must submit TOEFL scores or use the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). To ensure complete consideration of your application, the following TOEFL minimum scores will apply.
