Mary G. Barr, vice president of communications and marketing at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, joined the college in 2012. She brings with her 21 years of experience as a strategic marketer, branding leader, and award-winning creative writer. She also has proven skills in communications management, marketing, and high-level messaging.
Prior to coming to Rose-Hulman, Barr served as director of marketing at Ball State University where she led a department of 18 marketing, design, and web professionals that created the key brand messages and related visual brand aesthetic for the university. Prior to this role, she served as a communications manager at the university, marketing consultant for the Community Health Network in Indianapolis, senior copywriter for The J. Peterman Company and Paul Harris Stores in Indianapolis, and associate editor of Indiana Business Magazine.
Barr earned a dual bachelor's degree in journalism and foreign languages from Ball State University.
