It is with great sorrow that we announce that earlier this week the son of our advisor, Mike Fulk, passed away.  The funeral and visitation are planned for this weekend in Brazil, IN.  Mike is a tremendous asset, and great friend, to all those in the club and our thoughts are with him and his family.

More details can be found at: http://www.frenchfuneralhome.com/obits/obituaries.php/obitID/781484

11/07/07

Finals and break are on their way around so this will be the last official meeting until after quarter break.  Kent's dad has loaned us his corner scales for club use but if anyone would like to weigh their own car they should come to the meeting tonight and we'll be able to set it up afterwards.  Last Sunday we took the RX-7 to it's first SCCA race this season in Columbus, IN and it preformed fairly well.  A few weekends before we were able to take it to the airport and tune it for a couple hours and, other than a few minor mishaps, it did well there too.  We will be working a little more on it this Saturday so contact Robb if you would like more information on the work status for this weekend.

Discussions are still going on for the acquisition of the Porsche so if you have any insights please bring them to the meetings.

10/04/07   Since attendance seemed pretty scarce last night at the meeting we decided to put a few key points on the website.
  • There will be no TRM meeting next week due to fall break
  • There is a SCCA race this weekend and the weekend after.  There didn't seem to be too much interest in the race this weekend but if anyone would like to go just send out an email and we'll see who else may be interested.  The race after that is the last Sunday of break but it seems as though a few people are interested in going.  If you're interested email Robb Leu.
  • We're ordering more parts for the RX-7 and if those don't work we will consider scrapping the 7 more seriously.
  • A few minor tasks need to be done this weekend, contact Josh if you're interested in what's going on.
  • We planned out some major tasks for the winter and we'll get more detailed on those as the winter approaches.

Have a great fall break everyone!

09/20/07   We hope that everyone had a good time at Action City Dragway this weekend.

On the note of drag racing, we would like to congratulate freshman Jordan Eaker on his recent win during the NHRA North Central Division Summit Racing finals.

Jordan drove an ’83 Mustang with a 302 Ford, 3-speed auto, his fastest pass in the ¼ mile was 12.50 at 109 mph.  There were a total of 40 cars and 6 rounds of racing by current high school students and recent graduates.  His closest race was in the fourth round: 0.013 r/t, 12.619 e.t. @ 103.67 mph with a margin of victory MOV: 0.0108 seconds (approximately 17 inches).  He said that he had a ton of fun and he would like to thank Scott Stephany for letting him run his car, the entire ORP peam for all of their support, Indy RV Center, and his mom and dad.  If you'd like more information on Jordan's win you can check out the following links.

09/07/07   Tomorrow at noon is the first TRM workday of the new school year.  We will be meeting down at the barn to wash the trailer and get ready for selling the dragster.  It should last a few hours and it will be a great way to meet everyone.

08/29/07   Tonight was the Student Activities Fair and TRM made a great showing.  It was great to see not only familiar faces but also a lot of new ones.  All those who gave us their names to be added to the mailing list will soon start receiving messages about events and meetings.  The first meeting for all members will be Wednesday September 5th at 7:00 PM in the Myers Lobby.  For all the new members who aren't sure where that is, simply email one of the current members and we will be happy to show you over there.

Also, this Friday is the first trip to the dragway for the 2007-2008 school year.  We will be meeting at the barn at 5:30 PM and will be at the strip from 6:00-10:00.  You're welcome to bring your own car and race ($15) or just watch everyone else ($5).  The website for the dragway is www.actioncitydragway.com.

Thanks everyone for getting right back into the swing of things with the start of the school year and we hope that this will be the best year yet!
