March 27 - 28, 2009 Messier Marathon Open to Rose-Hulman students, faculty and staff.
April 2 thru 5, 2009 100 Hours of Astronomy Public Event.
Friday, April 3, the Observatory will be open
beginning at 9 p.m. if the sky is clear. In case
of clouds, we will be open Saturday instead. If
it is cloudy Saturday, then the event will be
cancelled.
May 1, 2009 Mom's Day Star Party 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. weather permitting. In case of clouds, we will be open May 2 instead. Open to Rose-Hulman students, faculty, staff
and their families.
September 18 - 19, 2009 Public Star Party at the Oakley Observatory
October 9 - 10, 2009 Public Star Party at the Oakley Observatory

A $141,634 grant from the Oakley Foundation of Terre Haute will allow Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology students to utilize the Internet to operate a telescope based at a new observatory in Australia,
keeping the college at the forefront of astronomical technology and discovery. Professor Richard Ditteon, director of the observatory, explains how the grant will be used.
